Alternative Perceptions Therapy PLLC

Welcome to Alternative Perceptions Therapy PLLC. My goal is to create a safe and supportive telehealth space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions, and to facilitate growth and lasting change for my clients. My approach to therapy is person-centered, and I meet my clients where they are in the change process to help them gain the skills to meet their goals.

Professional Background

Through my work in community mental health, I have had the privilege of working with clients from all walks of life, addressing a diverse range of mental health concerns. My journey in the field of Social Work has allowed me to make a difference in the lives of my clients and their families, and I continue to be passionate about making a difference in the lives of my clients.

Qualifications

Therapy

2022-present Vera French Community Mental Health Clinic in Outpatient Therapy.

2021-2022 Eagleview Behavioral Health Hospital as an intern working with Adults and Adolescents in-patient.

Masters in Social Work 2022

I graduated in May of 2022 with my MSW from the University of Iowa.

Bachelor of Arts in Social Work - 2002

I obtained my BSW from Loras College.

The Arc of The QC

I worked as a QIDP providing case management services for Individuals with Intellectual disabilities. Responsibilities of writing care plans, coordination of services, and attending mental health appointments with my clients.

Good Samaritan Society Skilled Nursing Facility

I coordinated services for skilled care clients returning home after therapy stays, wrote care plans for long term residents, provided emotional support for clients and their families and completed admissions with incoming patients, utilizing the state's PASSR program and facility paperwork.

Community Care Inc

I worked as a case manager for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Managed 3 community based homes, and services for Individuals residing at home with their families. I developed care plans, scheduled and monitored staff providing services.
